Route 66 Diary - Day 05 - Winslow Arizona to Santa Fe New Mexico

Distance: 326 miles

Another day another state.

After a dodgy night in the Winslow Motel, the run to Santa Fe took us through Albuquerque, or as Jon & Family call it, Albert Turkey.

The outskirts of town look pretty dilapidated, and to be honest, apart from a small central few blocks of the old town, the rest of Albuquerque looks a bit shabby too.

Tony bizarrely disappeared to a crummy run-down theme park, where he apparently rode a roller coaster that was imported from Great Yarmouth in the UK, where he had ridden it also ridden it a few years ago.

Why would an adult go all the Way to America to do that?

Santa Fe Old town is full of Character.

It looks like a well-kept place with well maintained Spanish-Mexican style low-rise buildings. A bit like the “High Chaparral” if you remember that from TV in the old days.

We spoke to a Navajo Indian Lady who you can hear on Tuesday’s Podcast.
